The Department of Molecular Biology is a specialized workplace of SVI Jihlava performing diagnostics based on conventional and real-time PCR techniques with a focus on the determination of viral and bacterial pathogens in the field of animal health control. In the area of food and feed quality control, we participate in diagnostics focused on the identification of allergens and food adulteration, where we determine plant and animal species. We also focus on the certification of genetically modified crops, which we determine on a qualitative and quantitative level.
As part of the national sheep breeding program, genotyping of sheep (PRNP gene) and verification of the origin and identity of the individual is carried out. Pedigree verification is also done for cattle.
Our team regularly expands the offer of analyzes according to the current trend and based on the request of our clients.
