The Department of Bacteriology is a part of the accredited testing laboratory No. L 1129 "SVI Jihlava Laboratories".
It deals with the identification of bacterial pathogens of farm animals, bees, fish, game, pets, zoo animals and samples from the environment. It performs a special culture examination for the detection of mycoplasmas and yeasts and a special examination for the detection of bacterial toxins.
Using molecular biological methods, we perform not only accurate identification of bacterial isolates, but also their typing and determination of virulence factors. We archive the obtained isolates, provide them for the production of autovaccines and other diagnostics.
Simultaneously with the identification of bacteria, the department of bacteriology determines the sensitivity of pathogenic bacteria to antimicrobial substances, especially antibiotics.
Part of our activity is the interpretation of our results, advisory and consulting activities in the field of prevention and therapy of diagnosed diseases.
