REFERENCE LABORATORIES

National Reference Laboratories

The legislative anchoring of national reference laboratories in the field of food and feed and animal health, including the list of their powers and duties, is in Articles 100 and 101 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2017/ 625 of March 15, 2017 (Regulation on Official Controls).

National reference laboratories (NRL) for a given disease or test area are approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic in accordance with §44 paragraph 2 and §51a paragraph 1 of Act No. 166/1999 Coll., on veterinary care and on the amendment of related laws (veterinary law) proposal of the State Veterinary Administration according to §48, paragraph 1 letter e) of the Veterinary Act, and are published in the Journal of the Ministry of Health. The provisions of the above-mentioned regulations are further developed at the national level in Decree No. 298/2003 Coll., on national reference laboratories and reference laboratories.

NRL for mycotoxins and other natural toxins
NRL for BSE and animal transmissible encephalopathy
NRL for meat and meat products
NRL for Swine Fever (CSF and ASF)
NRL for bluetongue
NRL for infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR/IPV)
NRL for foodborne viruses
NRL for viral diseases of fish
NRL for monitoring marine biotoxins
NRL for horse plague
NRL for animal proteins in feeds

 

Reference laboratories

Reference laboratories (RL) for a given disease or test area are declared by the State Veterinary Administration according to §48, paragraph 1, letter e) and §51a, paragraph 2 of the Veterinary Act, and are provisions of the Veterinary of the Act on Reference Laboratories, including the indication of their powers and duties, are further elaborated in Decree No. 298/2003 Coll., on national reference laboratories and reference laboratories.
